Located in the heart of Edinburgh, Caledonian Exchange has been transformed into a modern and welcoming workplace with the support of DKI. The extensive refurbishment included upgrading the reception, sanitary facilities, and common areas, as well as extending the building to introduce high-quality active travel facilities.
Working closely with the architect, we delivered a striking new reception where feature lighting enhances a refined, luxury interior. Mechanical services were seamlessly integrated, with ventilation discreetly concealed within bespoke joinery to achieve a premium finish.
Adapting and upgrading existing systems within a live building demanded careful planning and execution. By identifying opportunities for improvement, we ensured long-term value for both the building owner and its tenants. The introduction of active travel facilities not only enhances user experience but also supports APAM and their occupiers in meeting ambitious sustainability and decarbonisation goals.
